IMAB provides support and advice to program offices on printing, graphic design, distribution, mail services and warehouse publications. This position has an individual occupational requirement that must be met in order to qualify for the position:
Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics.
OR
Specialized Experience: Experience that provided a knowledge of printing equipment, methods of production, and sources of printing. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
- Determining specifications for the printing of manuscript, i.e., selection of typography, layout, composition, format, paper stock, and other printer's instructions.
- Negotiating or administering contracts for procurement of manuscript and illustrations, printing, binding and allied services, or printing stocks (paper, inks, etc.).
- Managing a printing plant that produces printing either for the government or private industry customers.
- Performing production control work in a large printing plant.
- Serving as a sales representative for a wide variety of printing equipment.
- Analyzing the price and cost of preparation and production of printing.
- Planning, estimating, and scheduling printing on a full-time basis for a variety of publications.
- Performing substantive administrative support or policy functions directly related to publishing and printing program management or operations.

For the GS-12 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service) that demonstrates working independently and that provided you with at least 3 of the 5 following areas:
- Developing cost estimates for printing and distribution projects and/or negotiates cost and deadlines within an Agency budget.
- Analyzing, developing and implementing policies, standards, principles and methods for managing an Agency-wide printing or graphic design program.
- Using automated databases to track, prepare and distribute Agency mail and Federal Express activities.
- Planning and directing the procurement of printing, graphic design, distribution, mail services, and/or warehouse publications.
- Coordinating with management and commercial vendors to assure print projects meet the needs of the customer.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
