Full Job Description

The Family Counseling Center of Fulton County, Inc. is seeking an Intake & Crisis Services Supervisor to provide clinical and operational leadership for the Agency’s Intake department while supporting the daily operations of Crisis Services.

This is a working supervisory position responsible for ensuring timely access to behavioral health services, supporting compliance with Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) standards, supervising assigned staff, monitoring quality and performance measures, and providing clinical leadership across Intake and Crisis operations.

The Supervisor directly oversees Intake Specialists and provides ancillary supervision and operational support to Crisis Services. The position serves as a key resource for staff, promotes efficient access to care, and supports the delivery of high-quality, person-centered behavioral health services.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related behavioral health field.
Current New York State licensure as an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMHC-D.
Minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate clinical experience in behavioral health. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of crisis intervention, behavioral health assessment, care coordination, suicide risk assessment, and trauma-informed, person-centered, recovery-oriented practices.
Strong clinical judgment, decision-making, leadership, and staff development skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to interpret and monitor quality and performance metrics.
Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, and applicable New York State behavioral health regulations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations with professionalism, empathy, cultural humility, and sound clinical judgment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Successful completion of required background checks, credential verification, and Medicaid exclusion screening.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

Provide direct supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for Intake Specialists.
Foster a collaborative, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented work environment.
Support staff development through regular supervision, training, and professional development.
Assist with orientation and onboarding of new staff.
Promote adherence to Agency policies, CCBHC standards, and evidence-based practices.

Intake Operations

Oversee daily intake operations for new and returning clients, hospital discharges, and priority referrals.
Ensure timely scheduling and completion of behavioral health assessments in accordance with Agency and CCBHC access standards.
Monitor intake workflows to improve access to care and reduce wait times.
Collaborate with clinical programs to support appropriate placement and continuity of care.
Identify and address barriers to access and implement workflow improvements.
Monitor referral management and client engagement throughout the intake process.

Crisis Services Support

Provide ancillary supervisory support to the Crisis Team.
Participate in Crisis Services supervision and case consultation.
Provide operational oversight when the Assistant Director of Crisis Services is unavailable.
Cross-cover crisis operations as needed to maintain service continuity.
Maintain cross-training and competency in both Intake and Crisis Services.
Participate in crisis response activities consistent with Agency protocols.

Quality Improvement & Compliance

Monitor intake quality indicators and operational performance metrics.
Prepare, review, and analyze reports related to intake performance, productivity, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
Identify trends and recommend quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure documentation meets Agency, CCBHC, OMH, OASAS, Medicaid, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Participate in audits, chart reviews, quality assurance activities, and the Agency’s Utilization Review process.
Support and participate in the Agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
Follow the Agency Compliance Plan and Standards of Conduct.

Clinical Responsibilities

Maintain a reduced clinical workload as assigned to support Intake and Crisis operations.
Provide clinical consultation regarding client disposition and level of care.
Assist with complex client situations and hospital discharge planning.
Support coordination of care among internal programs and community partners.

Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities

Participate in the Agency’s rotating on-call schedule.
Assist with scheduling, staffing coordination, and operational coverage.
Maintain accurate supervisory documentation.
Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary committees.
Participate in staff development activities.
Support implementation of Agency initiatives and strategic goals.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and Agency events.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position involves prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking throughout Agency facilities and regular use of standard office equipment. The position may require responding to crisis situations in a variety of clinical settings.

Schedule & Attendance

This is a full-time in-person position with a 40-hour work week, generally Monday through Friday. Additional work hours may vary based on operational needs, deadlines, special projects, and crisis service requirements. Some flexibility in scheduling may be required.

Travel

Occasional travel to additional Agency sites and community locations may be required for community outreach, meetings, trainings, engagement events, or other Agency business.
