Shift Hours

5am-5pm, Fri/Sat/Sunday, 12-hour shifts

Job Description

These positions are responsible for the daily setup and operation of a Mitsubishi Fiber Plate Laser. The operator will also assist other machine operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material storage.

Essential Duties

Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures
Load and unload materials to meet daily laser production needs
Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by the scheduling department
Assist team members in processing division when production requires additional manpower to maintain throughput
Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufacturer’s machine recommendations
Perform machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance
Maintain material identification and traceability
Perform weekly quality checks

Education Level

HS diploma or equivalent

Experience

One year experience operating Plate Lasers or CNC machines preferred
Previous work experience on Mitsubishi Lasers is highly preferred
Ability to inspect flat laser cut parts with precision inspection equipment
Work requires the demonstrated ability to read drawings
Knowledge of and ability to identify different types of metals highly preferred

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee will frequently walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
