JWF Industries is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Specialist to join our growing team in Johnstown, PA.
This critical role is responsible for developing and managing supplier quality programs, supporting supplier development initiatives, improving supplier performance, and enhancing product quality and on-time delivery throughout the supply chain. The Supplier Quality Specialist will work directly with suppliers to establish performance metrics, reduce nonconformances, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure compliance with JWF Industries quality requirements.
Candidates with experience in supplier quality management, supply chain operations, supplier development, manufacturing quality systems, vendor management, quality assurance, and supplier performance improvement are encouraged to apply.

- Develop and lead supplier quality improvement programs to enhance supplier performance and reduce defects.
- Visit supplier facilities to assess capabilities, monitor quality performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Locate, evaluate, train, and develop new suppliers to support JWF Industries operational requirements.
- Communicate and flow down JWF quality requirements to suppliers and ensure suppliers are qualified to perform required functions.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and review supplier performance metrics to improve quality and on-time delivery.
- Provide regular supplier quality and delivery performance reports to Supply Chain Management.
- Maintain and update the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
- Maintain, analyze, and distribute supplier scorecards.
- Review drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and contract requirements to ensure supplier understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.
- Promote best manufacturing practices and supplier quality excellence.
- Assist with supplier audits, evaluations, and qualification activities.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in supply chain management, supplier quality, supplier development, manufacturing quality, purchasing, or vendor management is required.
- Experience working directly with suppliers in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of supplier quality systems, performance metrics, corrective actions, quality audits, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supplier development practices, and quality assurance principles.
- Understanding of Best Manufacturing Practices and manufacturing technologies.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop supplier relationships while driving accountability and performance improvements.
- Experience with supplier scorecards, supplier evaluations, and performance reporting is preferred.
- Ability to review drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and contract requirements to ensure requirements and expectations are communicated and understood by the supplier.

Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This position works in both office and manufacturing environments and requires occasional travel to supplier locations.

The employee works in both office and manufacturing environments. While in production areas, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. There is frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat. The employee may be exposed to electrical hazards and vibration. The noise level in production areas is usually loud.
