Quality Engineer
Position Overview
As Isoclima Specialty Glass LLC continues to grow, we remain committed to delivering the highest levels of product quality, technical accuracy, and customer satisfaction. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer in our Blairsville, PA facility to support our manufacturing and engineering teams by ensuring product specifications, drawings, and quality standards are clearly defined, maintained, and continuously improved.
This position will play a key role in developing and managing CAD/SolidWorks drawings, supporting quality assurance initiatives, investigating product and process issues, and driving continuous improvement efforts throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical drafting skills, a solid understanding of quality systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, revise, maintain, and control engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and CAD software.
- Ensure all drawings and specifications are accurate, current, and compliant with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Review engineering changes and implement drawing revisions while maintaining document control and revision history.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Sales, and Quality teams to develop manufacturing drawings and technical specifications for new and existing products.
- Develop and maintain quality standards, inspection criteria, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Analyze quality data, customer feedback, nonconformances, and production trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to address product and process issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and testing methods.
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing performance.
- Provide technical support and training related to drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and documentation standards.
- Work closely with customers and suppliers to resolve technical and quality-related concerns when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software is required.
- Demonstrated ability to create, interpret, and maintain detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and document control practices.
- Knowledge of quality systems, quality assurance methodologies, and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with glass manufacturing, fabrication processes, or engineered products is a plus.
- Recent graduates with strong CAD/SolidWorks experience are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
- Understanding of statistical process control (SPC), inspection methods, and quality reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
