Full Job Description

THE POSITION

Cambria County is seeking a professional, detail-oriented full-time Clerk Typist 1 to support the daily operations of the Area Agency on Aging. The successful candidate will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and customer service duties while providing exceptional support to staff, clients, and the public. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports the agency by handling a wide range of clerical tasks. The position requires attention to detail, clear communication, and consistent follow-through. As a Clerk Typist 1, you will perform the following duties:

Phone Support: Answer and transfer calls based on information from consumers
Mail Processing: Open, sort, distribute, and prepare outgoing mail using agency procedures
Data Entry: Enter consumer applications, updates, and meal records into SAMS, PIA, and related systems
Visitor Assistance: Greet visitors and provide routine information in a professional manner
Document Preparation: Type reports, letters, memos, and other materials from handwritten drafts
Clerical Support: Serve as back-up for other clerical staff and complete filing, labeling, and record tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Possession of the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered
You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
