Full Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION: Organize and oversee all aspects of Groundwork 40-hour training, new staff training and volunteer training. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and assure the implementation of their services to benefit Groundwork and its clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Respond to GACS internal and external inquiries about the 40-hour Domestic Violence Training.
Maintain a communication log for potential training participants detailing communication prior to, during, and immediately after the 40-hour Domestic Violence Training class.
Assure that those teaching the 40-hour Domestic Violence Training are equipped with the class schedule, updated materials, and PowerPoints and organize all logistics of the training including facilitation ensuring compliance with ILCDVP guidelines and requirements.
Facilitate and coordinate 40-hour Domestic Violence training and CEU site components for trainings.
Organize and maintain the 40-hour Domestic Violence Training material binder and teaching binder.
Assist with orienting new GW staff and volunteers to GACS and GW
Assure any volunteers are aware of training opportunities
Work collaboratively with other agencies regarding community outreach to enhance awareness of GW services and volunteer opportunities.
Assure documentation of training attendance and maintenance of related records.
Assure all volunteers have completed all required paperwork, are oriented to the program, and fully trained regarding GW related tasks.
Participate in on-call medical advocacy for a minimum of 16 hours monthly.
Assist with outreach and prevention tabling/events as assigned, not to exceed 4 hours per week.
Organize and mentor GW volunteers for direct and indirect tasks including assuring all ongoing GACS and ICADV requirements are met.
Represent Guardian Angel Community Services/Groundwork Domestic Violence Program in an appropriate manner at professional and community organizations.
Submit all reports, oral and/or written, in an accurate and timely manner as required by GACS and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Communicate problems and issues of concern within the Groundwork Domestic Violence Program to the Program Supervisor.
Assist GACS administration in any investigation against conduct that is illegal
Other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Attend staff meetings, all-agency meetings and other meetings as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education or related field.

2. Knowledge or experience with assisting survivors of domestic violence.

3. Able to adapt/develop training materials.

4. Comfort with public presentations and training facilitation.

5. Forty (40) hours of ICADV approved domestic violence training. (can be obtained upon hire)

6. Good verbal and written communications skills.

7. Obtain and maintain ICDVP certification within first year of hire.

8. No physical or mental impairments which would prevent, or render impossible, the performance of the duties of this position.

9. Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of persons served.

10. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.

11. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials.

12. Ability to work flexible hours.

13. Valid Illinois driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance coverage.

Pay: $49,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
