Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage comprehensive bookkeeping functions, ensure accurate payroll processing, and maintain financial records in accordance with established accounting standards. Your expertise will support the organization’s financial health, compliance, and reporting needs. Responsibilities

Maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
Process payroll efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while managing deductions, benefits, and tax filings.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions by verifying invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely payments.
Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analyses to support organizational decision-making.
Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant accounting standards in all financial activities.
Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing necessary reports and maintaining audit-ready records.
Assist with tax preparation activities by maintaining accurate records of taxable transactions and supporting documentation.
Utilize spreadsheets extensively for data analysis, account tracking, and financial modeling to enhance reporting accuracy.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting software.

Qualifications

Proven experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and general ledger accounting.
Strong proficiency in accounting software.
Experience with payroll systems and processing payroll accurately while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Familiarity with account reconciliation procedures such as bank reconciliation and account analysis.
Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or similar) for data management and financial report writing.
Knowledge of tax concepts related to payroll taxes, 1099s, W-2s, and other regulatory filings.
Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support organizational financial goals.
