Full Job Description

Essential Duties and Requirements of the Job:

24 hour shot board verification.
Attend pass-down meetings & communicate well with other shifts.
Performs dimensional and visual checks as required (first piece, last piece and in process).
Performing gage R&R and capability studies.
All other lab testing required to assist the Quality Department.
Filing records per retention matrix, all records must be legible.
SPC basic knowledge and review or SPC records for trend analysis.
Ensure housekeeping cleanliness 5S and orderly work areas to provide a safe work environment.
Perform daily shift-operator audits
Completed Layered Process Audits per the documented schedule.
Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
Interacts with Production Manager, Supervisors, Process Technicians, to ensure production is not disrupted.
Ability to apply reasoning and understanding to carry out instruction in oral written and diagram format, ability to deal with problems involving variables affecting the process and production schedules. Ability to work under time pressure.
Contain Nonconforming product per procedures. Assist in nonconforming cage.
Leading manufacturing in root cause analysis through the nonconforming process.
Setup and provide training for weigh scales as required by Supervisor or Management.
Help give operators breaks on shift (work with supervisor)
Perform calibrations are required.
Product audit(supv) if Supervisor is absent or assigns
Giving breaks or assigning if supervisor is absent
Rework in cage if required for shipment (operators not available)
Overtime coverage for other quality techs(A7) on other shifts, during vacations & or absent.
All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or any member of Management.

Level 1 Specific Requirement:

General understanding and use of standard measuring test equipment in the lab (General Metrology)
Required to travel to customers to rework / sort and problem solve any issues (state wide)
Complete 5hrs of annual training in quality field to maintain position
Must be able to pass Quality Tech skills training.
Possess basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Must be able to interact with coworkers in a corporate, respectful & professional manner.
Must have a High School Dipolma or equivalent
Proficient in written & oral communications, the ability to relay information in a logical manner.
Ability to work overtime as required by Supervisor or Management
Strong attention to detail, precise & accurate, well organized and ability to handle multiple assignments.
Demonstrate ability to preform in a demanding fast paced environment
Strong analytical skills
Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision peripheral vison, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must have good or correct eyesight to insure quality of work
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw & interpret bar graphs.
Valid driver's license
Must process safe work habits, a mature attitude, excellent attendance record & the ability to follow instructions in a timely manner.
Training assessment needs - Skill blocks required
Must be local to Jackson MI or surrounding area
