Full Job Description

Overview

Position Title: Multimodality Technologist (CT & X-Ray)
Location: Joshua Tree, California
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Schedule: 4x12s, AM & PM Shifts
Hours: 48 Hours per Week
Weekly Gross Pay: Approximately $4,100

Position Summary

The Multimodality Technologist performs both Computed Tomography (CT) and Diagnostic Radiology (X-Ray) examinations while ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and imaging standards. The technologist works collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide accurate diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

Perform CT and general diagnostic radiographic procedures according to physician orders and established protocols.
Operate and maintain CT scanners and radiographic imaging equipment.
Prepare and position patients for imaging examinations.
Administer contrast media as appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
Ensure radiation safety practices are followed for patients, visitors, and staff.
Review images for quality and accuracy before submission for interpretation.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Assist in patient transport and provide compassionate patient care.
Follow hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in on-call, weekend, holiday, and overtime coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Minimum 1-2 years of recent CT experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
Experience performing both CT and diagnostic X-ray examinations.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and patient care skills.

Required Licenses

California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License – Active and unrestricted.
California Fluoroscopy Permit (required ).

Required Certifications

ARRT (R) – Radiography
ARRT (CT) – Computed Tomography
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

Previous travel healthcare experience.
Experience with trauma, emergency department, and inpatient imaging.
Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems.
IV contrast administration experience.
