Irvine Ranch Water District is currently accepting applications for two (2) Facilities Services Technicians in the Facilities Services Department.

The Position:
Oversee and perform journey level building maintenance/construction work (carpentry, painting, minor electrical, plumbing, lock repair and masonry) at all District’s facilities.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Performs journey level carpentry including design, fabrication, construction, finish and installation of wood structures such as walls, doors and cabinets. Install and repair locks, panic devices, roofing and rough framing.
Performs journey level plumbing. Able to perform skilled tasks and repairs on valves, piping, toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets, water lines, gas lines, sewer lines, roof drains, flush valves and water heaters.
Performs journey level concrete construction. Design, form, pour and finish concrete. Repair stops, walkways, pads, specialized concrete structures and block walls.
Performs preventive maintenance and inspections in compliance with local and state code. Advise supervisor of needs for repair and replacement.
Reviews contracts regarding assigned trade specialty and monitor contracted work.
Prepares work orders and complete inspection forms through the District’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.
Maintains tools in good working order; inventory supplies and equipment.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Comply with District work-related safety practices and attend relevant safety training.
Disaster Service Worker: In accordance with Government Code Section 3100, Irvine Ranch Water District employees, in the event of a disaster, are considered disaster service workers and may be asked to respond accordingly.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis and up to 80 lbs with assistance. Ability to exert moderately heavy physical effort in moderate to heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Ability to operate equipment and machinery requiring complex and rapid adjustments, such as power hand and shop tools, mechanic’s hand tools, plumbing hand and power tools, carpentry hand and power tools, shovels, motor vehicles, locksmith tools, compressors, hoists, ladders, glazing tools, drafting tools, etc.
When working in an office environment, must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Employees work in the field and are exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, road/traffic hazards, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, hazardous physical substances and fumes, dust, and air contaminants. Employees also work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances

Oral Interview Examination (tentatively scheduled for August 12, 2026): will assess candidates’ experiences, qualifications, and abilities that are crucial for success in this role. During this examination, candidates will have the opportunity to discuss their background, including education, training, and relevant professional experiences.
