Full Job Description

Overview

The Accounting Supervisor/Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department as well as its strategic management including financial reporting, treasury, and cost accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage staff in day-to-day accounts receivable & accounts payable activities.

· Manage treasury activities including cash flow awareness and debt management. Prepare and approve banking transactions, as needed.

· Manage payroll accounting including reviewing and posting of each cycle and monitoring general staffing levels.

· Review cost accounting assumptions and job performance. Provide analysis to and lead discussion with management to help drive variance improvement.

· Manage month-end closing including preparing financial statements. Analyze and report on variances including manufacturing variances.

· Manage reconciling all balance sheet accounts no less than quarterly.

· Review capital requests for both business rationale and accounting considerations.

· Provide guidance on the accounting configuration of the ERP system to align financial reporting to support operational processes.

· Manage the annual budget process.

· Serve as a liaison to the external auditors and tax accountants.

· Manage the insurance and risk management process including interacting with the agency and responding to underwriter data requests.

· Provide support for other accounting related activities as needed.

· Drive process improvements and collaborate cross-functionally to improve efficiency and quality of data.

· Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls.

· Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and payroll information.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management with three or more years related experience.

Advanced degrees or certifications such as an MBA, CPA, or CMA are a plus.

Skills, Talents and/or Characteristics

· Exceptional time-management and organizational skills with proven ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize with the flexibility to and adapt quickly to change.

· Experience with ERP systems including configuration of the general ledger.

· Intermediate Excel skills.

· Self-motivated with a bias for action and results.

· Ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of individuals.

· Strong commitment to customer service.

· Prefer experience with standard cost in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
