Full Job Description

Overview

The Foster Care Case Manager plays a crucial role in supporting children and families involved in the foster care system. This position involves working closely with children, foster parents, and various stakeholders to ensure the well-being and development of children placed in foster care.

As a faith-based organization, our work is grounded in compassion, dignity, and the belief that every child is created with inherent worth and deserves safety, stability, and hope. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work or child welfare, with a passion for advocating for the needs of vulnerable populations and a willingness to work within a mission-driven, values-centered environment.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine needs and develop individualized service plans.
Monitor the progress of children in foster care, ensuring that their emotional, physical, and educational needs are being met.
Facilitate communication between foster parents, biological families, and other service providers to promote collaboration and support.
Provide guidance and support to foster families, offering resources and training as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of case files, including progress notes and service plans.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss case updates and strategies for improvement.
Advocate for the rights and best interests of children within the foster care system.
Uphold the organization’s mission and values in all interactions with children, families, and community partners.

Skills

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Proven experience with children in various settings, including childcare or educational environments.
Knowledge of child welfare policies and practices, including familiarity with Child Protective Services.
Strong background in social work principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse populations.
Ability to build rapport with children and families while maintaining professional boundaries.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
Alignment with and respect for the organization’s faith-based mission and values.
