GENERAL SUMMARY
To provide clerical and customer support for the Sheriff's Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Transcribe reports, forms, and correspondence (Minimum 60 wpm required).
Answer incoming calls, provide information, or direct callers to appropriate personnel.
Coordinate information with staff and other government agencies.
Maintain and update various records and information systems.
Provide inmate financial accounting.
Greet and correspond with the public and public offices.
Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required, plus two (2) additional years of college coursework.
One year of receptionist or clerical experience is desired.
Must possess exceptional office skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), strong computer literacy, and keyboarding skills (minimum typing speed of 60 wpm).
Experience accurately transcribing using standard transcription equipment.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug screen.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, or the legal field.
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
