Full Job Description

As Business Office Manager, you will oversee the financial and administrative operations of our skilled nursing facility. In this role, you will act as a compassionate guide for residents and families and ensure financial compliance for timely billing.

Key Responsibilities

Medicaid Application & Eligibility
- Guide residents and their families through the complex "Medicaid Pending" process all the way to approval.
- Track the status of pending applications, submitting necessary requests and communicating closely with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Resident Trust & Funds Management
- Manage Resident Trust Accounts in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Accurately record all deposits, withdrawals, and interest earned.
- Issue receipts, disburse funds upon request, and conduct thorough monthly bank reconciliations.
Accounts Receivable, Collections & Accounts Payable
- Manage facility Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including processing vendor invoices and making deposits.
- Monitor past-due accounts and execute collection strategies for private pay balances.
- Process and record daily cash receipts, ensuring timely deposits.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 2-3 years of business office experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or long-term care setting.
- State Knowledge: Strong, working knowledge of Michigan Medicaid (MDHHS) guidelines and application procedures Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
- Skills: Excellent math and organizational skills, proficiency with PCC and outstanding interpersonal/communication abilities.
