Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Residential Audio Video Integration Technician / Lead Installer to join our team serving luxury homes throughout Flathead County, Montana.
This is not an entry-level or training position. We are looking for an experienced professional who can independently install, commission, troubleshoot, and complete sophisticated residential technology systems from pre-wire through final commissioning while consistently delivering exceptional workmanship and client service.
Our projects include high-performance home theaters, whole-home audio, premium networking, motorized shading, lighting control, surveillance, and integrated smart home systems. We are looking for someone who takes pride in exceptional craftsmanship, clean installations, and solving technical challenges without needing direction.

Responsibilities
High-End AV Installation
- Install premium televisions, projection systems, home theaters, distributed audio systems, architectural speakers, and invisible speaker systems.
- Install equipment racks with professional cable management, labeling, and documentation.
- Perform clean retrofit and new construction low-voltage wiring.
- Install structured wiring panels, equipment enclosures, surveillance systems, networking equipment, and associated infrastructure.
- Safely install in-wall and in-ceiling speakers by accurately locating framing members and avoiding structural components, plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and other concealed utilities. Candidates must possess a solid understanding of residential construction methods, framing practices, and building anatomy to perform clean, damage-free installations.
Construction Pre-Wiring & Project Leadership
- Independently perform and lead low-voltage pre-wire installations for new residential construction and major remodels.
- Read and interpret architectural plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical drawings, and wiring schematics to determine device locations and cable pathways.
- Install structured wiring for audio, video, networking, surveillance, lighting control, motorized shades, access control, and future expansion.
- Ensure all wiring is properly routed, protected, secured, labeled, tested, photographed, and documented before insulation and drywall.
- Supervise and direct helpers or junior technicians while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Networking & System Commissioning
- Configure residential networks including routers, managed switches, wireless access points, VLANs, static IP addressing, and network troubleshooting.
- Commission audio/video systems and troubleshoot signal-flow issues.
- Configure streaming audio platforms, network-connected devices, surveillance systems, and other IP-based technologies.
Candidates with experience in these systems will receive strong preference.
Professionalism
- Work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, designers, and other trades.
- Represent our company with professionalism in occupied luxury homes.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Minimum five years of full-time residential or commercial AV integration experience.
- Demonstrated experience independently completing projects from rough-in through final commissioning.
- Demonstrated experience leading low-voltage pre-wire installations for custom residential construction.
- Advanced knowledge of residential low-voltage wiring.
- Thorough understanding of residential construction methods, framing practices, and common building systems.
- Ability to safely install in-wall and in-ceiling products while avoiding structural framing, plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and other concealed building components.
- Ability to read architectural plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and construction documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving audio, video, networking, and integrated technology systems.
- Excellent cable management and professional equipment rack construction.
- Ability to supervise helpers or junior technicians while maintaining project quality and schedules.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience across multiple premium residential integration platforms and manufacturers will receive strong preference.
