Full Job Description

About the Role

Lifted Logic is a digital agency in Overland Park, KS. We build custom websites, web applications, client portals, dashboards, and API integrations for a diverse portfolio of clients. We're hiring a full stack developer with a back-end focus to join our development team.

This is not a page-builder role. You won't be assembling templates or installing plugins from the WordPress directory. You'll be building custom Laravel applications, writing complex API integrations, developing custom WordPress plugins, and architecting database solutions for real business problems.

We need someone who can think critically. The projects that land on your desk won't always come with a clean spec. You'll need to take a business problem, ask the right questions, figure out the right approach, and build it.

The split is roughly 60% back-end (Laravel, PHP, MySQL, APIs) and 40% front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). You'll work alongside a team that's strong on the front-end and WordPress theming — your job is to bring the back-end depth.

What You'll Build:

Custom web applications — portals, dashboards, data-driven tools
API integrations with third-party services
Custom WordPress plugins
Complex Laravel applications with real business logic
Database architecture and optimized SQL queries

What We Require:

3+ years of professional development experience in Laravel and WordPress
Strong PHP — clean, well-structured back-end code
Proven experience with API integrations (REST, webhooks, third-party services)
Strong MySQL skills — schema design, complex queries, performance optimization
Experience building custom WordPress plugins
Git proficiency with team-based branching workflows
Comfortable with front-end (HTML, CSS, JS) even if it's not your primary strength
Strong problem-solver — you can turn an ambiguous requirement into a technical solution
Excellent communicator — you can explain technical decisions to non-technical people

Details:

Full-time, hybrid — in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (Overland Park, KS)
Reports to Director of Development

Please note- Lifted Logic operates on a hybrid work scheduled and all employees are required to be in office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday)
