As a Registered Nurse Orthopedic Spine, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What you will do in this role:

Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Assesses patient environment for any safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards.
Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
Serves as an example of professional nursing practice and promotes pride in nursing for the organization, the community, and the health care industry.
Demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
Participates in professional practice activities and advocates for shared governance functions.
Seeks opportunities to continue to grow professionally through learning through HCA programs, classes, and offerings, and through outside learning, research, and school.
Shares new knowledge with peers and, when appropriate, utilizes new evidence-based knowledge to drive process improvement.
Seeks opportunities to impact the growth of the organization by promoting excellence in patient experience and providing high quality care to the patients served.
Performs other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
