The Machinist III performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the productions of parts, components sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. The individual uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. The Machinist III is an experienced manual machinist in conjunction with being a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operator and programmer.
Essential Duties:

Work to improve production efficiency by managing time, tool wear and automation.

Installation, repair, maintenance, dismantle, and movement of equipment.

Support of daily activities in a hands-on manufacturing environment
-
Assist engineers by performing testing and support of machines, tools, equipment, and mechanical systems.

Troubleshoot product designs and suggest or implement improvements.
-
Repair, rework, or modify mechanical assemblies to meet operational specifications.

Welding work that focuses on repairing and maintaining equipment by applying heat to bond/fuse metal surfaces or parts together

Work with engineers to perform root cause and failure analysis as required.

To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employee’s, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements
Education:

Basic: High School Diploma, GED

Preferred: 1 to 2 years of vocational training or associate degree
Essential Qualifications:

Must have a strong maintenance background

Strong mathematical skills in Algebra and Geometry

Use welding equipment to perform metal cutting/trimming work or fabricate simple fixtures, tools, or equipment

Ability to interpret engineering drawings

Ability to work independently and must have an aptitude for spatial reasoning

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Maintain a safe and organized work area in a team-oriented environment
-
Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex
Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience working in the maintenance filed.

2 years of experience of prior machine shop experience

Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel), Auto-cad, and SolidWorks, cam programming, and G-coding
