Full Job Description

The Facility Manager/Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of the Girls Emergency Shelter. This role ensures consistent staffing, policy and DCF compliance, proper documentation, medication and appointment management, and high-quality care for the youth we serve. The Facility Manager serves as the primary on-site leader and the main point of contact for facility-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and adjust staff schedules to ensure required coverage and staffing ratios are met at all times.
Serve as backup staff when shifts cannot be covered.
Remain on-call to support staff during crises and serve as second staff as needed.
Ensure all incidents are thoroughly and accurately documented; review incident reports before they are submitted to the Program Director.
Coordinate and oversee KBH appointments and full medication management (including accurate, timely documentation in med logs/books).
Supervise and ensure all medical, dental, therapy, and other appointments are scheduled promptly and kept on track.
Supervise staff to ensure strict adherence to Forstter Youth Center policies and DCF requirements, including facility cleanliness, properly completed and signed medication logs/books, and professional communication standards.
Serve as the direct contact for all facility-related questions and issues.
Hold (or obtain and maintain) the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional (RCYCP) Certificate through the National Resource Center for Youth Services.
Lead and support the work of aligning Forstter Youth Center Policies and Procedures with CARF’s Child & Youth Services Standard Manual in preparation for CARF accreditation in 2027.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
Residential Child and Youth Care Professional (RCYCP) Certificate required (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe after hire).
Demonstrated experience in residential youth care, preferably with youth in DCF custody or emergency shelter settings.
Working knowledge of Kansas DCF licensing standards and trauma-informed care principles.
Strong organizational, leadership, documentation, and crisis-response skills.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duty.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to pass background checks, and meet all DCF and agency employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior supervisory or lead experience in a group home, shelter, or residential treatment setting.
Familiarity with CARF standards or previous involvement in accreditation processes.
Experience with medication administration systems and appointment coordination in a residential setting.

Pay: $42,169.46 - $45,601.93 per year
