Chick-fil-A Lees Summit is seeking a trustworthy, dependable, proactive and hands-on maintenance professional to handle the ongoing maintenance, appearance, and operational readiness of multiple properties, equipment and assets.
This role is responsible for performing facility preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, groundskeeping, vehicle maintenance, and facility improvement projects as well as coordinating outside service and repair vendors.
The role is a combination of managing, coordinating and conducting "hands on" work as well as coordinating part-time helpers and outside vendors.
The ideal candidate is a "hands on" person who enjoys solving problems, working with tools, learning new skills, and taking pride in maintaining safe, efficient, and professional facilities. This role will also have the opportunity to mentor and teach young people who have an interest in learning and doing tasks in this area of our business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Maintenance & Building Operations
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facility systems. Handle minor repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, lighting, and general maintenance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and facility-related problems to minimize downtime. Respond to maintenance requests and facility needs across all company properties. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Equipment & Systems Maintenance
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and machinery. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and building systems using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and service HVAC units and refrigerators for work that does not require an HVAC license.
- Troubleshoot electrical and lighting systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, and related components.
- Maintain maintenance schedules and ensure equipment remains operational and safe.
- Be willing to learn to work on Chick-fil-A kitchen equipment. Specialized brand-specific training is provided.
Grounds & Landscaping
- Perform and oversee lawn care, landscaping, trimming, planting, and general groundskeeping upkeep. Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and power tools.
- Ensure exterior areas remain clean, safe, and well-presented.
- Support seasonal property maintenance and beautification projects.
- Direct the work of team members who participate in the grounds keeping tasks.
Vehicle Fleet Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on company vehicles, including sedans, vans, pickups and trailers.
- Maintain vehicle service schedules and records.
- Coordinate upkeep and major vehicle repairs with outside vendors.
Contractor Scheduling and Coordination
- Schedule and oversee maintenance related service providers and vendors.
- Assist with facility upgrades while minimizing disruption to business operations.
Inventory and Documentation
- Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, inspection, and service records.
- Manage inventories of parts, tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Track vehicle and maintenance records using company systems and spreadsheets.
Safety
- Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
- Basic automotive maintenance experience.
- Experience scheduling outside vendors and service providers such as electricians, plumbers, pest control, etc. and coordinating maintenance projects.
- Experience operating landscaping equipment and power tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between properties.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move maintenance materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay based on experience. Expected 40 hours / week, but very limited overtime.

Pay: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour
