Full Job Description

Experienced Commercial HVAC Estimator / Project Manager

$65,000–$120,000+ Based on Experience

Polar Air Heating & Cooling

We're a family-owned mechanical contractor with over 44 years in the business.

We know commercial HVAC, we know construction, and we know that experienced people don't need someone looking over their shoulder every five minutes.

We are looking for someone who can estimate, manage, communicate, and get the job done.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll have an important role in our company, working with commercial HVAC projects from the estimating stage through completion.

Our work includes:

Large apartment communities
Hotels
Retirement and senior living facilities
Commercial buildings
Office and retail projects
Other commercial mechanical/HVAC projects

Your responsibilities will include:

Estimating commercial HVAC/mechanical projects
Reviewing plans, specifications, and construction documents
Preparing competitive and accurate bids
Obtaining and comparing equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing
Working with general contractors and customers
Managing awarded projects from beginning to completion
Coordinating with field personnel, vendors, suppliers, and contractors
Managing project schedules, budgets, and change orders
Attending project meetings when needed
Keeping projects moving and profitable

We're Looking for Someone Who:

Has real-world commercial HVAC estimating experience
Understands mechanical construction—not just how to enter numbers into software
Can read and understand blueprints and specifications
Knows how to build an accurate, competitive estimate
Understands job costs, margins, change orders, and project management
Can communicate professionally with contractors, customers, vendors, and our field crews
Can work independently and make good decisions
Takes pride in their work and wants to see a project through
Doesn't need to be micromanaged
