Full Job Description

Kessinger Hunter Management, Inc. (KH) is seeking an Evening Shift Dispatcher for coordination of the flow of information related to Security and Facilities operation services for the Crown Center Complex and Hallmark Headquarters. Hourly rate noted ($22.55) includes a 6% shift differential that is added to the base hourly rate of $21.27 per hour.

Schedule:

This evening shift position has an alternating schedule each 28 day work cycle from (1:45 or ) 2:00 pm to (9:45 or) 10:00 pm with rotating days off each 28 days.

Job Summary

Our Dispatchers must be excellent multitaskers and provide calm and decisive directions as they receive calls from Hallmark Headquarters and Crown Center Complex customers, building maintenance technicians, housekeeping and building tenants concerning security needs, building maintenance requests, and hotel requests.

Dispatchers operate radio, telephone, CCTV and computer equipment to proactively and reactively address security and other issues on the Complexes; monitor fire and entry alarms; receive information and dispatch on medical emergencies; relay information to and coordinate responses of supervisory personnel and outside emergency responders (Police, Fire, Ambulance).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Receives incoming telephone calls and alarm system notifications regarding emergency and non-emergency issues, and tenant business and hotel guest maintenance request information.
Questions callers to determine their locations, and the nature of their problems to determine type of response needed
Prioritizes situations and dispatches in accordance with established procedures.
Records details of calls and messages.
Retrieves information from computerized data systems.
Relays information and messages to and from team to all other individuals or groups requiring notifications.
Scans CCTV, alarms systems and computer screens, and contacts response teams for appropriate handling.

Dispatcher candidates need knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and professional services. This includes:

Performing needs assessments
Meeting quality standards for services
Ensuring customer satisfaction.
Transmission, broadcasting, radio, intercoms, fire safety systems and operation of telecommunications systems and CCTV.
Relevant equipment, policies and procedures to promote effective Security operations for the protection of Crown Center Complex.
The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based Work Management Systems managing work tickets and reporting.
Basic knowledge of applicable laws and legal codes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and two years of security/police dispatch experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain a Class A Unarmed License, issued by the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners.

The ability to follow CCTV and watch roving cameras and monitors.
