ABOUT AE SOLUTIONS

AE Solutions (AE Tools & Computers) is a B2B technology company serving fleet, utility, automotive, and government customers with diagnostic hardware, OEM software, and managed IT services. We're actively shifting from one-time hardware sales toward recurring managed services revenue — software licensing, device management, and support agreements with accounts like Exelon/ComEd, Beacon Mobility, Carvana, Car Keys Express, various DOT. As that recurring base grows, protecting and expanding it at renewal time becomes one of the highest-leverage jobs in the company.

POSITION SUMMARY

AE Solutions is looking for a Renewals Manager to own the renewal strategy and execution across our growing portfolio of managed services, software licensing, and support agreements. This is not a role that just processes paperwork at contract end — you will act as a strategic partner to our customers, understand where they're getting value (and where they're not), and use that insight to protect recurring revenue and find expansion opportunities before the renewal conversation even starts.

You'll work closely with our Sales reps, ops/fulfillment, and leadership to make sure renewals reflect real account health rather than becoming a surprise — whether that's a fleet customer scaling from an 8-location pilot to 150+ locations, or a smaller account whose usage patterns are quietly signaling risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Renewal Ownership & Strategy

Own the end-to-end renewal motion for a portfolio of accounts across managed services, OEM software licensing, and support agreements — ensuring on-time execution and strong retention.
Build account-specific renewal strategies well ahead of contract end dates, flagging risks (usage drop-off, support complaints, budget pressure) and expansion signals (device growth, new locations, new service needs) early.
Maintain a rolling forecast and pipeline of upcoming renewals and expansion opportunities, with accurate visibility for leadership and Finance.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Partner closely with Sales reps to align renewal outcomes with the broader account plan and relationship history.
Work with Fulfillment/Operations to understand delivery performance and device/service utilization heading into a renewal conversation.
Loop in leadership on strategic or at-risk renewals — especially anchor accounts — with enough lead time to act.

Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation

Engage the right stakeholders at each account — IT, procurement, finance, and operational leads — to understand priorities and organizational dynamics that affect renewal decisions.
Lead renewal negotiations, including pricing, term length, device/seat counts, service tier changes, and contract structure (e.g., lease vs. purchase, per-device pricing).
Identify and proactively address renewal risk — adoption gaps, pricing pushback, competitive pressure from Diesel Laptops, Repairify, Snap-on, or Opus IVS.

Value & Retention Conversations

Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers connect their AE Solutions spend to real business outcomes — uptime, technician productivity, fleet availability.
Drive conversations around cost optimization, service-tier fit, and ROI, particularly for managed services and device-management agreements.
Translate technical and operational value (device health, ticket volume, response times) into terms that resonate with financial and procurement stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

3+ years of experience in Renewals, Account Management, Customer Success, or Sales, ideally within a B2B technology, SaaS, or managed services environment.
Demonstrated success managing complex renewals — not just contract execution, but multi-stakeholder negotiation and risk mitigation.
Comfortable engaging multiple stakeholders within an account (technical, financial, operational) and adapting the conversation to each.
Strong consultative approach — able to uncover a customer's real priorities, position AE Solutions' value against them, and influence the outcome.
Organized and forecast-driven — able to maintain an accurate renewal pipeline and flag risk before it becomes a lost account.

Preferred

Working knowledge of managed IT services, device/RMM management, ITAM/SAM, or OEM software licensing models.
Experience in the fleet, automotive, utility, or government contracting space.
Familiarity with HubSpot and NetSuite for pipeline and contract visibility.
Experience partnering with sales or solutions engineering during technical sales cycles.
