JOB SUMMARY:
Performs preventive, predictable maintenance and repairs on hotel commercial kitchen equipment at the Westin Hotel located on Crown Center Complex, Tuesday -Saturday 3pm - 11pm
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains and repairs commercial kitchen equipment by routinely inspecting steamers, broilers, grills and appliances, repairing or replacing broken or defective parts, scheduling routine inspections, and performing preventative maintenance services as required.
- Maintains a safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing designated storage area, storing tools and materials, repairing or replacing old or broken tools following established procedures, and following established safety standards while using tools.
Job Specifications:
Education and Experience:
Essential:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 3 years' experience in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and repair
- 2 years vocational training and/or related experience
- 2 years plumbing and pipe fitting experience
- Valid Driver's License
Desirable:
- EPA certified universal HVAC/R license
- Exposure to hospitality industry
Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:
- Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints
- Ability to read, interpret and apply technical information
- Working knowledge of electrical components related to position
- Ability to perform installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment
- Ability to document and track assignments through a shop log or work order system
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and measurement
- Ability to use testing and repair tools and equipment
- Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with little or no supervision
- Ability to reach, crouch, bend and kneel
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs
- Ability to appear for work on time
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
