Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Meat Cutter, where you'll play a vital role in preparing and presenting high-quality meat products for our customers. This energetic position involves precise meat processing, cutting, slicing, and packaging to ensure freshness, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your culinary skills and food handling expertise will help create an inviting shopping experience while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Duties

Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat using knives and meat processing machines, ensuring accurate portioning and presentation.
Operate meat slicing and trimming equipment safely and efficiently to meet quality standards.
Conduct visual inspections to verify the quality, freshness, and safety of perishable goods, discarding any products that do not meet standards.
Package meat products securely for retail display or customer orders, maintaining proper labeling and food safety protocols.
Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to maintain a clean work environment and prevent cross-contamination.
Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable advice on meat cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips while delivering excellent customer service.
Manage inventory by rotating stock appropriately, monitoring expiration dates, and ensuring proper storage of perishable goods.
Support overall store operations related to food handling, including fish handling when applicable, and contribute to a team-focused environment.

Experience

Prior experience in food production or preparation within a retail store or restaurant setting is highly desirable.
Demonstrated proficiency in meat cutting techniques such as slicing, trimming, and butchery with basic knife skills.
Familiarity with food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and visual quality control measures.
Experience operating meat processing machines or similar equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of food industry standards related to perishable goods management and safe food handling practices.
Customer service experience in a retail or culinary environment is advantageous.
Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating portions accurately are essential.
Kitchen or culinary experience that includes working with various types of meats or fish enhances your suitability for this role.
