The Bakery Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring our events end on a high note. We are looking for detail-oriented, creative individuals who are passionate about pastry and baking and eager to contribute to a successful, high-volume production team. Alongside Our Pastry Team, Your Responsibilities Will Include
Baking & Preparation
- Precisely measure, weigh, and mix ingredients for doughs, batters, frostings, and fillings according to established recipes.
- Assist with the proofing, baking and cooling process to ensure consistency. Ensure final details, decor and components are ready to go on the event site for presentation.
- Maintain readiness of components for high-volume service.
Bakery Maintenance & Sanitation
- Maintain a clean and organized baking station, including washing mixing bowls, sanitizing workspaces and cleaning equipment.
- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Assist with proper inventory rotation, ensuring dry goods and ingredients are stored and labeled correctly to maintain freshness.
Team Support
- Support the Pastry Chef and other kitchen staff with various production tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure production schedules are met for upcoming events.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a bakery or commercial kitchen environment with relevant training.
- Precision: Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding measuring ingredients and following exact baking formulas.
- Technical Skill: Proficiency in baking techniques (mixing, scaling, temperature control, and equipment operation).
- Professionalism: The ability to stay focused, positive, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance: Knowledge of food safety and health department sanitation guidelines.
