Full Job Description

Hiring an Experienced Sales Representative

We are seeking a motivated, results-driven sales expert to increase our art sales – of Hawaii watercolors, art books, and note cards by a Kaua’i artist – throughout the state. This is an opportunity for the right salesperson to represent a well-established local artist, who maintains a gallery in San Diego and shows his art in juried exhibits throughout the U.S. The main responsibilities are to: (a) to visit galleries, hotels, retailers, gift shops, and other retailers on all the major islands, (b) get these businesses to sell our artwork, which depicts Hawaii's beauty, and (c) publicize the art and assist retailers to secure sales. The candidate must be experienced at increasing sales, securing retailers, routinely assisting retailers with sales, publicizing the artist, and formulating an effective advertising campaign. Some travel to neighbor islands is required. This is a non-commission, full-time salaried or part-time hourly (20-30 hrs./week) position. Salary depends on education and experience. Full benefits.

Requirements:

· Professional appearance and pleasant demeanor

· Skill at working wth people, building relationships, and remaining positive, even when not initially securing a sale

· Proven sales record

· Strong motivation, with persistence, excellent communication and closing skills, and a positive attitude

· Computer (Word + Excel) and writing skills, to maintain sales and contact records, draft correspondence to retailers and appealing advertising copy, and prepare accurate timesheets and expense records; skill with Mac (Apple) computers is helpful

· Ability to acquire and maintain accounts

· Experience with publicity and advertising campaigns

· Familiarity with art sales is helpful

· College degree is helpful.

· Kaua’i residence and familiarity with the state

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

· Willingness to travel throughout the islands

· Trustworthy, dependable, ethical character

· At least 3 professional references

Pay: $77,000.00 - $87,500.00 per year
