Full Job Description

Director of Events & Community Engagement – Tomball

Since our founding over five years ago, Family First ER has become an integral partner in the communities we serve. Our patients experience world-class medicine paired with renowned hospitality, while our employees enjoy the benefits of a growing organization with the feel of a close-knit team.

With our new Tomball location, we're looking for a creative, energetic, highly organized Director of Events & Community Engagement to help Family First ER build meaningful relationships throughout the Tomball community.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves planning events, meeting people, building relationships, and turning creative ideas into memorable experiences. You do not need a traditional marketing background. We are looking for someone with strong event planning experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a natural ability to connect with people.

What You’ll DoEvent Planning & Execution

Plan, coordinate, and execute Family First ER events from concept through completion, including community events, school events, sponsorship activations, employee events, grand openings, promotional events, and special events.
Develop creative event concepts and experiences that reflect the Family First ER brand and help us stand out in the community.
Manage all event logistics, including venues, vendors, catering, entertainment, décor, signage, promotional items, staffing, schedules, setup, and breakdown.
Create detailed event timelines, checklists, budgets, and project plans to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Research, select, and coordinate vendors; obtain proposals; negotiate pricing; and ensure deadlines and commitments are met.
Attend and oversee events to ensure polished, professional execution from beginning to end.
Handle the unexpected and solve problems quickly when plans change.
Track event participation and results to help identify the events and partnerships that provide the greatest value.

Community Engagement & Relationships

Build strong relationships with local schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, chambers, community groups, and other organizations throughout the Tomball area.
Identify new events, sponsorships, partnerships, and community involvement opportunities for Family First ER.
Serve as a visible, enthusiastic, and professional representative of Family First ER in the community.
Attend community meetings, networking events, school functions, and other local activities.
Coordinate sponsorship commitments and ensure Family First ER receives the appropriate recognition and visibility.
Develop creative ways for Family First ER to support local schools, families, organizations, and community initiatives.

Brand & Promotional Support

Help ensure events and community initiatives consistently represent the Family First ER brand.
Coordinate promotional materials, signage, giveaways, branded items, and other materials needed for events.
Work with internal team members and outside partners to promote Family First ER events and community activities.
Collaborate with our other Marketing Director to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
Oversee vendors and outside partners associated with events and community initiatives.
Manage assigned event and community-engagement budgets.
Ensure activities comply with applicable healthcare regulations, patient privacy standards, and organizational policies.

What We’re Looking For

Strong event planning and coordination experience.
Demonstrated experience managing events from the initial idea through planning, budgeting, vendor coordination, setup, execution, and follow-up.
Experience coordinating vendors, venues, catering, entertainment, décor, signage, promotional items, and event logistics.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong project-management skills with the ability to keep multiple events and deadlines moving at the same time.
Creative and resourceful — you enjoy coming up with ideas and figuring out how to make them happen.
Outgoing, personable, and comfortable meeting new people and developing relationships.
Professional and confident representing Family First ER at community events and functions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently without needing constant direction.
Flexible and willing to be hands-on. No task is "too small" when it comes to making an event successful.
Calm under pressure and able to solve problems when something doesn't go according to plan.
Ability and willingness to travel to our other Family First ER locations and corporate office in the Heights.
Availability for occasional evenings and weekends based on the event calendar.

Event planning experience is more important to us than a specific degree or traditional marketing experience. Experience in event planning, hospitality, community relations, fundraising events, nonprofit events, corporate events, school events, public relations, or a similar role may be a great fit.
