Healthcare Compliance & Risk Management Consultant (Entry/Mid-Level) – FQHC & Healthcare Consulting

Position Type: Part-Time (20–30 Hours per Week)

Employment Type: W-2 Employee

Compensation: $30–$50 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, and qualifications.

Veterans HUB (TX VETHUB) providing professional consulting services in healthcare compliance, enterprise risk management, cybersecurity, emergency management, organizational performance, and strategic planning.

We partner with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), nonprofit healthcare organizations, government agencies, and commercial clients to strengthen governance, improve regulatory compliance, reduce organizational risk, and support sustainable growth.

As our healthcare consulting practice expands, we are seeking a motivated Healthcare Compliance & Risk Management Consultant who is eager to build a career supporting healthcare organizations that serve underserved communities.

Position Summary

Working under the direction of senior consultants, the Healthcare Compliance & Risk Management Consultant will assist healthcare clients with compliance monitoring, enterprise risk management, internal assessments, regulatory research, grant compliance, policy development, and performance improvement initiatives.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to gain experience in healthcare consulting while supporting executive leadership, compliance officers, and Boards of Directors on projects that improve organizational effectiveness and regulatory readiness.

Essential Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining compliance and enterprise risk management programs for healthcare clients.
Support compliance with HRSA Health Center Program requirements and the HRSA Health Center Compliance Manual.
Assist with preparation for HRSA Operational Site Visits (OSVs), compliance reviews, and regulatory audits.
Support grant compliance activities, including documentation reviews, monitoring, reporting, and corrective action tracking.
Assist in conducting organizational compliance and enterprise risk assessments.
Help maintain organizational risk registers and risk mitigation plans.
Research healthcare regulations and prepare compliance summaries for clients.
Assist with policy and procedure development and periodic updates.
Support internal compliance audits and operational assessments.
Prepare executive reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for leadership and Board committees.
Collect, analyze, and organize compliance metrics and key performance indicators.
Assist with HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance activities.
Support development and delivery of compliance, ethics, and risk management training for healthcare staff.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting quality improvement, finance, human resources, information technology, clinical operations, and strategic initiatives.
Participate in projects involving clinic expansion, new healthcare programs, accreditation readiness, and organizational growth initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Risk Management, Nursing, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
One to five years of experience in healthcare administration, compliance, auditing, risk management, quality improvement, healthcare operations, or consulting.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
