As a Sign Maker/Sign Production, you will have a dual role working in the computer room and production warehouse. In the computer room, you will be responsible for creating computer generated vinyl and/or full color graphics output that can be weeded, cut, and applied or printed and mounted to a substrate. You will be responsible for ordering supplies and keeping up with inventory. In the production warehouse, you will be responsible for all aspects of the physical construction and assembling of signs from computer cut vinyl and wide format full color printouts, which includes proofreading and conducting quality assurance to ensure the accuracy of signs. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate or medium
- Prepares substrates for application, which may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application
- Weeds excess vinyl from computer cut images
- Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post-production
- Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces
- Reports inventory levels and stock to be reordered to franchise supplier partner
- Helps unload raw materials and cleans and maintains storage areas
- Performs routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
- Establishes and maintains effective team relationships with all support departments
- Serves as graphic designer as necessary, using Adobe Illustrator, CoralDraw and Photoshop
- Installs interior signs when necessary
- Answers phones as necessary
- Consult/Interfaces with customers
- Loads materials on/into printer and/or laminator, which may require some heavy lifting
- Maintains all equipment including computers, plotters, and printers (water-soluble printers, thermal transfer printers, etc.)
- Manages multiple large projects simultaneously across multiple clients to ensure timely and quality completion of all deliverables
- Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
Additional Requirements:
- Experience applying vehicle graphics and wraps a plus
- Create custom profiles a plus
- Experience with CoreBridge or other Sign Industry software a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years sign industry experience as a professional sign maker, design & production
- Background in vinyl creation & application and large format digital printing
- Strong computer and file management skills including experience and knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with sign industry Corebridge software
- Solid track record of accurately estimating and meeting deadlines
- Detail-orientation and multi-tasking skills are critical
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good math skills
- Strong people skills, able to work both independently and in a fast-paced team environment
- Work directly with both customers and subcontractors
- High school diploma or GED required; advanced education degree preferred
- Able to work well under pressure to output high volume, high quality work
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 or more pounds
- Must have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
- Experience with vehicle wrap installation a plus
- Able to use light power tools and hardware for sign making & installation
- Valid driver’s license & Vehicle
