Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients across diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home health environments. Your expertise will support patient recovery, comfort, and safety through comprehensive assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced LPNs to travel and make a meaningful difference in patient care nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols
- Monitor patient responses and document medical information accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Assist with complex procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, and sterile dressing changes
- Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities
- Support acute pain management and infectious disease care initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and caregivers to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
- Educate patients and families on health management strategies and discharge instructions
- Adapt to various clinical environments including ICU, emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities
Requirements:
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, or home care
- Critical care experience preferred; ICU or Level I Trauma Center experience highly desirable
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth
- Knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding and medical terminology
- Experience with IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration, and sterile techniques
- Strong understanding of long-term care regulations and geriatrics principles
- Ability to perform physical examinations and conduct patient assessments accurately
- Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver interaction and client education
- Flexibility to travel across multiple sites as needed; valid driver’s license preferred
