Position Summary
IPS Shelters is seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Project Manager to support both our Director of Product Development and Director of Supply Chain & Procurement.
This role is ideal for someone early in their project management career who enjoys keeping projects organized, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
The Junior Project Manager will help manage new product development activities, coordinate engineering documentation, track purchasing activities, communicate with vendors, and assist in driving projects from concept through production.
Success in this role comes from exceptional organization, strong communication, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist with planning and coordinating cross-functional projects
- Track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and action items
- Follow up with internal teams to ensure deadlines are met
- Prepare project status updates for leadership
- Help identify project risks and escalate issues when needed
Product Development Support
- Coordinate engineering drawings, revisions, and document control
- Track product development tasks and design changes
- Assist with engineering change requests (ECOs)
- Coordinate prototype builds and product testing activities
- Maintain organized product documentation
Supply Chain & Procurement Support
- Assist with supplier communications
- Track purchase orders and expected delivery dates
- Monitor material availability for production
- Coordinate with vendors regarding quotes and lead times
- Help maintain purchasing records and supplier documentation
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or similar)
- 1–3 years of project coordination, operations, manufacturing, construction, engineering, or supply chain experience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred
- Manufacturing experience
- Experience working with engineering drawings
- ERP system experience (Katana, SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, etc.)
- Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, Jira, or Smartsheet
