Overview

Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming, efficient, and safe environment for everyone who walks through our doors. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to excellence in general and pediatric dentistry.

Duties

Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following infection prevention management protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards.
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately.
Provide patient care by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and managing patient management software for scheduling and follow-up.
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards across all clinical activities.
Assist with dental instrument processing, including cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing tools for efficient reuse.
Operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, dental chairs, and other clinical devices with proficiency.
Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow efficiency during treatments.
Educate patients on oral health care practices tailored for pediatric patients when applicable.

Skills

Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for accurate documentation and scheduling management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or oral surgery.
Expertise in dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control policies.
Skilled in taking high-quality dental X-rays (including panoramic and 3D imaging) while maintaining safety standards.
Experience with dental instrument processing, chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry practices.
Ability to operate dental equipment efficiently and troubleshoot common technical issues promptly.
Excellent patient management skills with a compassionate approach tailored for pediatric dentistry when necessary.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices aligned with HIPAA compliance for accurate recordkeeping.
Knowledge of medical imaging technology used in dentistry along with general healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Must have RDA license
