About the Role
Fogg's Water Taxi is seeking a licensed part-time Captain for set shifts navigating Portland Harbor and Casco Bay. This role requires a capable operator who can independently manage vessel operations, ensure passenger safety, and maintain a high standard of customer service. You will be responsible for safe point-to-point transport, private charters, and the day-to-day upkeep of the vessel.
Core Responsibilities
- Safely pilot water taxis to various Casco Bay destinations, including private docks and outer islands.
- Interact with guests, provide local knowledge, and ensure a positive charter experience.
- Handle passenger payments and manage daily booking logistics.
- Perform daily boat washdowns and keep the vessel clean for passengers.
- Conduct light mechanical and safety maintenance checks before and after every shift.
Requirements
- Valid USCG OUPV (6-pack) Captain’s License or higher.
- Strong, proven familiarity with navigating Casco Bay and Portland Harbor.
- Availability to work set part-time shifts, which will include some night shifts.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently on the water.
Compensation
- Commission-based pay plus tips.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
