Full Job Description

Rebar Fabrication Machine Operator / Maintenance Technician

Location: Elkton, MD
Pay: $30.00–$35.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Fortress Steel Services is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our growing fabrication team. We are looking for someone with experience in a rebar fabrication shop, industrial machinery, or both. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating rebar fabrication equipment and possess the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on shop machinery.

If you have experience in rebar fabrication but are willing to learn the maintenance side, or you have a strong mechanical background and are interested in learning the rebar fabrication process, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain rebar fabrication equipment.
Read production schedules and fabricate reinforcing steel to specifications.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Work efficiently with the fabrication team to meet production deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience operating one or more of the following is highly desired:

Schnell Bar-Wiser N/22 Multifeed
MEP Syntax Line 25
KRB Standard Shearline
KRB Table Bender
25-Ton Overhead Crane
Forklifts

Experience maintaining or repairing any of the above equipment is a significant advantage.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a rebar fabrication shop preferred.
OR experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Willingness to learn new equipment and fabrication processes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Ability to perform physical work in a manufacturing environment.

Schedule

Monday through Friday
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Overtime opportunities available:
Typically 9-hour weekdays
8-hour Saturdays when production demands require
