Job Title: Student Support Coordinator
Position: 40 hours/week/215-day schedule during school year (Aug.-June). Some evening and weekend work required.

Summary: This position is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the Communities In Schools evidence-based model of integrated student supports in strong collaboration and partnership with school building staff.
This school-based position addresses the identified academic, social and emotional needs of youth (and their families) who face individual and systemic barriers to academic success through developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive interventions, services, and supports. The Student Support Coordinator case manages at minimum 50 students, each with an individual goal in either attendance, academic, or behavior. This position is also responsible for implementing a schoolwide goal and programming in alignment with each school’s improvement plan. The Student Support Coordinator also coordinates community resources, volunteers and partnerships while working closely with the administration, counseling and student support teams in their school.
Key Duties:
School-Based Services:
· Collaborate with school staff to address the social, emotional, and resource needs of students (and their families) who face individual and system barriers to academic success.
· Plan, coordinate, and implement individual, group, and whole-school K-12 programming.
· Ability to work with diverse populations and cultures while at all times displaying tact, maturity, flexibility, and professionalism.
· Communicate effectively and professionally with all CISBF staff, school personnel, community partners, and board members to support collaboration, alignment, and positive relationships.
· Foster positive, respectful, and solution-focused relationships across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
· A required part of this role is to actively engage and refer families in ongoing opportunities shared throughout the year.
High School Student Support Coordinators
· Deliver College & Career Prep support, including assistance with college, university, or trade school applications, as well as preparing students for the workforce through résumé development and interview preparation. All support must be documented in the data system.
· Provide Financial Aid and Scholarship support by directly offering or partnering to share information on FAFSA/WASFA completion and community scholarship opportunities. All support must be documented in the data system.
· Support case-managed seniors in applying for the CISBF & Beyond Scholarship; at minimum, one student application is required per year.
· Collaborate monthly with the Alumni Coordinator through school visits to engage seniors in relationship-building, leadership development, and more. Provide all necessary information to support the Alumni Impact Network.
· Invite case-managed seniors to the annual Beyond Graduation: Alumni Kickoff event and submit all required information to support a successful event.
· Submit case-managed senior snapshots to celebrate student success and for use in the annual marketing campaign.
Evaluation and Documentation:
· Document and evaluate the effectiveness of school-wide and targeted strategies through a systematic data collection process.
· Ensure accurate data documentation and deadlines are met monthly in the CIS data system.
· Fulfill monthly grant deliverables, which vary annually depending on partnership agreements
Collaboration:
· Build and maintain community partnerships.
· Work to maintain a positive image by understanding and demonstrating the CIS mission, goals, and values within the school and community
· Support CIS visibility by engaging in inclusive story-telling strategies
· Staff are expected to host site visits upon request from community partners, donors/funders, legislators, or members of the CISBF board
· Staff may be asked to present about their work in various settings and formats. Additionally, presentation responsibilities to the CISBF board are rotated among team members.
· Staff are required to participate in at least one community event or an event at a school other than their assigned site during the school year, by either tabling or providing support. Staff may not support the same school more than once to ensure rotation support across sites.
· Active participation in organizational marketing strategies is required; capturing photos and videos is mandatory. Examples include monthly snapshots and SSC yearly spotlights.
· CISBF is part of a broader network and frequently collaborates on pilot projects with the state and national offices; participation in these initiatives is mandatory.
· Represent the organization positively in public at all times by acting as a professional representative and ambassador
Required Qualifications:
· Must be 21 years or older
· BA/BS in a related field or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
· Case management experience
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Basic computer skills, data management, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Effective time management skills
· Flexibility and solution-focused approach within a changing environment
· Maintains a growth-oriented approach by proactively advancing skills and outcomes year over year.
· Represent CISBF with professionalism in all interactions, demonstrating cultural responsiveness, active listening, and clarity in both verbal and written communication.
· Ability to be proactive and take the lead/initiative on projects
· Combination of problem-solving skills and ability to be creative
· Ability to periodically travel across Benton-Franklin Counties and statewide for meetings or professional development
· Valid Washington state driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of adequate vehicle insurance coverage
· Ability to lift 25lbs. on a regular basis
