About Second Harvest
At Second Harvest, we measure success by the way we care for people: our neighbors facing hunger, our volunteers, our donors, our partners, and our team members.
We rescue large amounts of food before it goes to waste and work with a dedicated network of staff, volunteers, and community partners to distribute millions of pounds of nutritious food each year. What we do is hard, but every day it matters.
We are looking for people who are humble, trustworthy, kind, grateful, and generous. Our culture thrives on being helpful, flexible, creative, and committed to progress, not perfection.
About the Role
The Multimedia Brand & Content Specialist will help shape how our community experiences Second Harvest through compelling visual storytelling, thoughtful design, and creativity. This role will help define the look and feel of fundraising campaigns, volunteer engagement, digital communications, and community outreach while partnering with a collaborative marketing team to bring ideas to life.
This is a hands-on creative role, but it is not just a production role. The right person will be able to take a story, campaign need, or organizational message and help shape the visual direction, then create or support the graphics, video, templates, and materials needed to bring it to life.
Your portfolio matters more to us than your résumé. Show us work you are proud of and tell us why you made the creative decisions you did. We want to see evidence that you can create clear, compelling, brand-consistent content that helps people feel something and understand what matters.
Key Responsibilities
Model Second Harvest’s values of humility, kindness, trust, gratitude, and generosity in all interactions.
Lead the visual direction for campaigns, stories, appeals, events, programs, and community outreach.
Turn stories, interviews, program updates, and organizational messages into clear, compelling graphics, videos, templates, and other visual materials.
Create and edit short-form videos, reels, motion-based content, and other visual assets for social media, email, website, presentations, campaigns, fundraising, events, and internal communications.
Create and maintain templates, brand assets, and design systems that make content easier and faster to produce.
Design digital and print materials that are polished, practical, and aligned with Second Harvest’s mission and brand.
Collaborate closely with team members who work on storytelling, copywriting, digital systems, fundraising, and community engagement.
Use traditional and AI-supported creative tools when appropriate to improve quality, speed, and workflow.
Contribute creative ideas while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
