Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Substance Use Disorder Team Lead to oversee voluntary clinical operations within our outpatient care facility. This leadership role requires a skilled professional with extensive experience in substance use disorder counseling. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in crisis management, case management, and therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and behavioral therapy. The Team Lead will coordinate teams, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA. This position offers an opportunity to lead impactful clinical services while fostering a collaborative environment focused on recovery and well-being.

Duties

Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to outpatient staff, including trainees, counselors, and case managers.
Supervise counseling services rendered in communal settings such as Recovery Cafe, Transitional Housing Programs, and off-site locations.
Oversee intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and patient assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
Coordinate and facilitate individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, and social work interventions.
Lead crisis intervention efforts and manage crisis situations effectively to ensure patient safety.
Implement and monitor treatment protocols aligned with clinical research standards and best practices in behavioral health.
Ensure accurate documentation of medical records, treatment plans, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and other medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Conduct case management activities including patient care coordination, diagnostic evaluation, and data collection for research purposes.
Maintain compliance with healthcare policies related to mental health counseling, addiction counseling, pediatrics, PTSD care, and special education needs.
Facilitate staff training on topics like medical terminology, ICD coding updates, behavior management strategies, and crisis management techniques.
Promote a supportive environment that emphasizes patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field; licensure required.
Proven expertise in crisis intervention, crisis management, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and working within hospital or outpatient settings.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, case management discussions, and team collaboration.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion; experience in working with people with disabilities is highly desirable.
