Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading transportation startup projects, operational transitions, and expansion initiatives across the United States. This role serves as the primary implementation leader for new business launches, contract transitions, and market expansions while partnering closely with Operations, Sales, Safety, Recruiting, Fleet, Procurement, Accounting, and Executive Leadership.

The successful candidate will lead the development of GO Riteway's Project Services capabilities, support strategic growth initiatives, ensure operational readiness, deploy resources efficiently, and serve as the face of the company throughout project implementation and startup activities.

This position is ideal for a hands-on transportation leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys travel, and has a passion for building teams, solving operational challenges, and delivering successful outcomes for customers.

Compensation & Travel Summary

Compensation Range: $85,000 + annually, commensurate with experience
Incentive Opportunity: Eligible for performance-based bonus program
Home Base: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Travel Requirement: Approximately 75%-95% nationwide travel
Minimum Experience: 8 years of progressive transportation or similar applicable operations leadership experience

Key Responsibilities

Project Startup & Strategic Growth

Lead transportation startups, operational transitions, contract implementations, and expansion projects nationwide.
Develop and execute project plans, startup timelines, staffing strategies, and operational readiness initiatives.
Coordinate cross-functional resources to ensure successful project launches and customer onboarding.
Support new business opportunities by providing operational expertise during implementation and transition planning.
Establish and continuously improve project startup processes, standards, and best practices.
Partner with executive leadership to support growth initiatives and strategic objectives.

Leadership & Team Development

Help build and develop GO Riteway's Project Services function and capabilities.
Recruit, onboard, coach, mentor, and develop drivers and operational personnel.
Lead project teams through complex and time-sensitive implementations.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide leadership and direction across multiple concurrent startup and transition projects.

Operations & Resource Deployment

Oversee operational readiness and implementation activities during startup periods.
Coordinate and deploy traveling drivers and operational resources to support aggressive startup schedules.
Partner with local operating teams to ensure smooth transitions to ongoing operations.
Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, company policies, and safety requirements.
Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Client, Partner & Growth Support

Partner with Sales leadership to support revenue growth and market expansion efforts.
Participate in customer meetings, startup planning discussions, and implementation reviews.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with customers, transportation partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders.
Represent GO Riteway professionally during project launches, operational transitions, and startup activities.
Serve as a trusted resource and problem solver for internal and external stakeholders.

Fleet & Resource Planning

Partner closely with Fleet and Procurement teams to ensure vehicles, equipment, and resources are acquired and deployed to support project requirements.
Coordinate vehicle and resource planning to meet accelerated startup timelines.
Ensure assets are operationally ready before implementation and launch activities begin.

Financial Management

Support budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, billing, collections, and project financial performance.
Monitor startup costs and project results to support profitability goals.
Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate billing, reporting, collections, and reconciliations.
Maintain project documentation, reporting, and implementation records.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in motorcoach, charter, passenger transportation, transit, logistics, or related transportation operations or applicable project management.
Proven experience leading startup operations, project implementations, market expansions, or operational transitions.
Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Experience in transportation dispatching, scheduling, routing, and operations management or applicable project management experience.
Demonstrated success recruiting, onboarding, developing, coaching, and leading operational teams.
Strong customer relationship and account management experience.
Experience deploying personnel and operational resources to support startup and growth initiatives.
Strong project management, organizational, financial, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively across Operations, Sales, Safety, Recruiting, Fleet, Procurement, Accounting, and Executive Leadership teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel extensively and adapt to changing business priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in motorcoach, charter, shuttle, or passenger transportation operations.
Experience launching transportation operations in new markets.
Multi-location transportation leadership experience.
Experience supporting business development initiatives and customer implementations.
Proven success working in high-growth, multi-site operational environments.
