The Social Sciences Librarian provides a variety of professional library services including research instruction, research help, online class support, and collection development. The position will focus on providing services to social science students and faculty, and particularly the Teacher Education and Psychology departments. The position will serve as our field trip liaison for visiting K-12 students and other groups. It includes opportunities for professional development and service as well as community and campus outreach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a liaison to academic disciplines, particularly Teacher Education and Psychology, and other campus units, providing information on collections, instructional and research support, and library services.
Designs, develops, and delivers instruction in a variety of formats to faculty, staff, students, and other patrons.
Serves on committees to advance librarianship or broader higher education goals at the campus, local, state, and/or national levels.

- Assists with the coordination of day-to-day functions of one or more library operations or services
- Obtains materials, resolves issues, and answers questions particularly related to situations that are complex in nature
- Provides specialized services utilizing a high level of expertise on a broad range of disciplines or in a designated discipline area
- Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with vendors and professional colleagues
- Designs, develops, and delivers instruction in a variety of formats to faculty, staff, students, and other patrons
- Contributes to the development of policies and procedures
- Serves on committees to advance librarianship at the campus, local, and/or state levels
- May direct the day-to-day activities of student workers
- Serves as a liaison to academic disciplines and/or other campus units providing information on collections, instructional and research support, and library services
- Develops and curates collections

Compensation:
$50,000-$52,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Interest in working with students and instructors in Teacher Education, Psychology, social sciences, and related fields.
