The Senior Scientist I - Analytical Chemistry is a senior-level technical expert responsible for leading complex chemical analyses and interpreting results that support quality control, product development, troubleshooting, and customer-facing initiatives for concrete and construction materials. The role serves as a technical authority in the isolation, characterization, and quantification of inorganic and organic compounds. Operating with a high degree of independence, the Senior Scientist I - Analytical Chemistry supports critical technical and business decisions, contributes to method development and validation, and mentors junior laboratory staff while collaborating closely with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional associates.

Perform complex analytical testing using a range of techniques, including but not limited to: HPLC, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, UV-Vis, SEC, thermal analysis, particle size analysis, and microscopy.

Develop, validate, and maintain analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

Provide accurate and timely analytical results, reports, and interpretations to internal stakeholders.

Identify and characterize unknown organic and inorganic(cementitious) compounds, especially in support of Field Service, Manufacturing, and Product Development.

Ensure strict adherence to accepted standards.

Maintain laboratory instruments, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot issues with hardware/software.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales) to resolve technical challenges and support new product development.

Lead or participate in client meetings, audits, and provide technical consulting for external stakeholders.

Provide training and mentoring to junior staff on instrumentation, methodology, and safety practices.

Required:

Master's or higher degree in Analytical Chemistry.

Minimum 4 years of experience in an industrial analytical laboratory setting.

Substantial experience in polymer characterization

Substantial experience in extraction techniques and trace compound analysis
Preferred

Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry.

Greater than 4 years of industrial analytical chemistry experience
