Full Job Description

Role Summary

As a Senior Strategist at Tectonic, you will be responsible for owning strategic branding and marketing initiatives for clients, leveraging research, analysis, and innovative thinking to deliver exceptional branding and marketing experiences that achieve positive business outcomes.

This role combines deep expertise in digital brand and marketing strategy and client engagement.

To be successful in this role, you must fully own and manage the strategic aspects of client engagements such as brand strategy, marketing strategy and planning, roadmapping and campaign development and execution.

This is a pivotal role in building relationships with and shaping strategic direction for clients, and collaborating across teams to ensure the successful execution of impactful solutions.

Successful individuals in this role have the following capabilities: systems thinking; creative strategic and tactical problem-solving; intense yet mindful internal and external collaboration; ability to independently manage a multi-client workload week over week.

As we are expanding our capabilities, expertise in sourcing and managing contract resources is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy + Execution

Marketing Strategy and Planning: Ability to create marketing plans that directly affect stated client goals. Plan and manage budgets. Make informed decisions on appropriate platforms, audience targeting.
Integrated Campaign Planning, Execution and Management: Ownership of multi-channel (digital, print, events, partnerships) marketing campaigns—and their budgets—that align with target audience preferences and maximize ROI.
SEO Strategy and Implementation: Develop and implement SEO strategies to increase organic traffic and search engine rankings. Conduct keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization, and manage technical SEO efforts in collaboration with development teams.
Performance Tracking & KPIs: Define success metrics, track marketing performance through analytics tools, including SEO performance metrics (e.g., organic traffic, keyword rankings, conversion rates), and use insights to optimize campaigns, strategies, and overall marketing efforts.

Brand Strategy + Execution

Ability to lead Brand Strategy. In collaboration with Creative teams, lead a Brand Strategy process. Stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis and extrapolation of true brand values. Polished client presentations.
Ability to execute marketing that meticulously meets brand standards and amplifies brand value. Creative writing / copy generation is a definite plus, but not a requirement.
Championing brands through collaborative feedback and critique. Providing brand-focused feedback, insights and recommendations in a highly collaborative environment.

Project Leadership and Delivery

Independently manage strategic projects. Setting goals, priorities, timelines. Defining work items, delegating and reviewing provided work.
Serve as a key project team member, facilitating requirements and design sessions, producing deliverables, and managing project variables.
Scope projects, write briefs, participate in sprint planning, and assign tasks for strategy-related initiatives.
Present strategic recommendations, performance reports, and market insights to executive leadership, ensuring informed decision-making and alignment with organizational goals.

Strategic Research and Insights

Conduct customer and competitive research, benchmarking studies, and audits to uncover actionable insights for clients.
Translate findings into strategic opportunities, crafting compelling visions and value propositions for client solutions.
Stay up to date on industry trends, tools, and techniques to inform strategy recommendations and agency practices.

Collaboration with Teams and Clients

Partner with account managers to develop client roadmaps, establish business goals, and define realization strategies.
Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate creative strategy with actionable insights, ensuring solutions are both innovative and practical.
Build trusted relationships with clients through clear communication, delivering measurable value and fostering buy-in for proposed strategies.

Operational Excellence and Metrics

Ensure high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed client expectations, maintaining a strong focus on precision, strategic alignment, and timeliness.
Proactively engage in projects and initiatives, managing responsibilities effectively to deliver impactful results.
Actively participate in scaling the agency’s strategic capabilities, contributing to process improvements and new service offerings.

Qualifications

Professional Experience

5-10+ years of experience in digital-focused brand and marketing strategy, with the majority in a client-facing role managing and delivering complex projects and solutions.
Proven ability to work with executives and decision-makers, building trust and advocating for strategic change.
Proven ability to manage a multi-client, multi-level workload week over week.

Skills and Expertise

Mastery of Common Collaboration, Analytics and Marketing Tools and Platforms: Slack, Google Docs, task management systems, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram Advertising, among others.
Proven experience with brand and marketing execution.
Comprehensive understanding of digital technologies, with experience in data-driven insights and creative problem-solving.
Exceptional facilitation, communication, and quantitative skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise messaging across mediums.
Knowledge of and willingness to utilize AI-powered technology to augment (but not replace) the work.

Leadership and Problem-Solving

Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects through strategic challenges, driving alignment and collaboration.
Adept at scoping and managing projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Success Metrics

Client Satisfaction: Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional strategic insights and solutions that align with their goals. Be successful against client KPIs both tangible (conversions, sales, etc) and intangible (satisfaction).
Strategic Impact: Consistently produce actionable insights and deliverables that drive measurable business outcomes for clients.
Operational Engagement: Demonstrate a proactive, professional approach to managing responsibilities, communicating directly and clearly, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Innovation and Growth: Contribute to the growth and development of client business and the agency’s strategic capabilities by introducing innovative tools, techniques, and processes.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
