Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and approachable HR Generalist to support the day-to-day human resources needs of our Louisville, KY location. This position will serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers while assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and other HR initiatives.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This individual should have a strong understanding of HR best practices and employment regulations, along with the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR-related requests.
Support the full recruitment process, including posting positions, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and assisting with offers.
Facilitate new-hire onboarding, orientation, employment documentation, and offboarding activities.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HR systems and personnel files.
Assist employees with benefits enrollment, leave requests, payroll questions, and company policies.
Provide guidance to managers regarding employee relations, performance concerns, attendance, and corrective-action procedures.
Support performance review processes, employee development initiatives, and engagement programs.
Assist with investigations and the resolution of workplace concerns in a fair, timely, and professional manner.
Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Kentucky employment requirements.
Prepare HR reports, correspondence, documentation, and employee communications.
Coordinate employee events, recognition programs, training sessions, and other workplace initiatives.
Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, retention, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Perform additional HR and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of human resources experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or similar role.
Working knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, employee relations, and benefits administration.
Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee documentation.
Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive working relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience with HRIS, payroll, applicant-tracking, or timekeeping systems preferred.
SHRM-CP, PHR, or a similar HR certification is a plus.

Work Environment

This is an in-person position based in Louisville, Kentucky. The HR Generalist will regularly interact with employees and managers throughout the workplace and must be available on-site during established business hours. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to support business or employee needs.
