Full Job Description

General Clerk

The City of London is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused General Clerk to join our team. This position provides administrative and clerical support to various city departments while delivering excellent service to the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide general customer service.
Prepare, process, and maintain records, reports, and correspondence.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate files and databases.
Receive and distribute mail and other departmental communications.
Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings.
Process forms, applications, and other documents as assigned.
Operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and multi-line telephone systems.
Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; additional administrative or clerical training is preferred.
Previous clerical or office experience is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
