Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our engineering and maintenance operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the management of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and industrial systems within the hotel. Your leadership will ensure that all facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently, providing an exceptional experience for our guests and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, technical expertise in facilities maintenance, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive operational excellence while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Duties

Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, managing daily operations to ensure optimal performance of all mechanical and electrical systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs following maintenance repair procedures to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
Manage facilities maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance history for all assets.
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and safety regulations related to industrial maintenance; conduct regular safety training sessions for staff.
Coordinate projects involving facilities upgrades or repairs using project management principles to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety audits; prepare reports for senior management.
Monitor low voltage electrical systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize building automation processes.
Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems such as HVAC units, plumbing infrastructure, electrical panels, and schematics to identify potential issues early.
Manage vendor relationships for specialized services like HVAC system repair or industrial maintenance; oversee procurement of parts and equipment.

Requirements

Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams in a hospitality or similar environment.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair, electrical systems troubleshooting, HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, and industrial maintenance practices.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical proficiency with schematics, CMMS software, OSHA safety standards, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), and engineering troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters.
Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage electrical systems, electrical experience including circuit analysis with ohmmeters.
Familiarity with safety regulations related to OSHA standards; ability to develop safety protocols and conduct training sessions.
Excellent communication skills in English; capable of preparing detailed reports and coordinating with vendors or contractors effectively.
Knowledge of HVAC system repair techniques; ability to diagnose issues quickly using schematics and technical manuals.
Strong project management skills with a focus on facilities management; experience managing budgets and timelines for large-scale projects.
