Full Job Description

The Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County is looking for a DYNAMIC, FUN, and CREATIVE person to become our new Teen eSports Coordinator.

Under the direction of the CEO & Director of Operations, the Teen Coordinator will be responsible for implementing eSports programs and activities for all middle and high school aged Club members. The Teen eSports Coordinator will create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, including: promote and stimulate program participation and participate in their club orientation process; provide guidance and role modeling to members.

Job Functions

Effectively implement and administer a variety of opportunities for member involvement in activities related to eSports, gaming, and virtual events.
Implement and host open gaming events and tournaments for teen members
Promote events and activities through various marketing strategies
Serve as the Head Coach for the Club’s eSports teams
Management of Esports arena, including maintenance of equipment
Clean program area room daily (pick up trash, organize supplies, etc).
Accurately track participation of members in programs as well as program outcomes and enthusiastically complete other duties as assigned.
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
May participate in special programs and/or events.
May be required to drive Club van. (With good driving record and over 21 yrs. old)
Other job-related duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.
Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
Assist with any additional projects as assigned by Club management.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in Club's employee handbook and elsewhere.

Education and Experience

Minimum of three years working with children and adolescents, with at least one year of program management experience, preferably in designing and implementing programs for teens.
Bachelor’s degree in recreation, behavioral sciences, education, administration or related fields or equivalent experience preferred but not required.

Abilities

Excellent human relations, verbal and written communications skills.
Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and the Internet.
Ability to collaborate with other community-based teen organizations and social service agencies.
Knowledge of programs and resources available to create a well-rounded teen program and the ability to establish positive peer working relationships.
Ability to organize teen outreach events, including high school recruitment presentations. Capability to communicate the goals and objectives of the Club’s teen initiative.

Environmental and Working Conditions

Normal internal office environment. Must be able to work evenings and Friday nights. Possess skills to maintain up-to-date bulletin boards reflecting needs and interests of Club/community teen population. The model Teen Director will thrive in an extraordinarily fast-paced environment that features constant change, flexibility and a need to be innovative and creative.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, standing for more than four hours each day, other physical requirements needed to complete essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned. Necessary mental requirements include: concentration and focus on teen outreach and membership objectives.

All employees of Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County are required to pass annual background checks.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employee and provide documentation supporting this authorization.
Employment with Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County is "at-will." At-will employees are not guaranteed employment with Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County for any set period of time.
