Human Resources Manager

Job Summary

Best Boy Farms MN LLC is seeking a Human Resources Manager to establish and oversee our regional HR operations across our Owatonna, MN and Mason City, IA locations. In this role, you will serve as the primary on-site contact for employee relations, manage the payroll function, and partner directly with executive leadership to implement compliant company policies. If you have 3 to 5 years of core HR experience and are looking to build foundational company culture, we want you on our team.

Job Responsibilities

Provides day-to-day HR support to employees, supervisors, and local leadership.
Fosters a positive, inclusive, and harassment-free work environment for all multi-site staff.
Oversees the site payroll function to guarantee accurate, regulatory-compliant compensation.
Supports the administration of existing employee benefit programs, including enrollment, employee communication, vendor coordination, and payroll-related updates.
Guides local leadership on employee relations, coaching, corrective action, attendance, and performance management.
Standardizes and manages all physical and digital employee records and files.
Manages full-cycle talent acquisition including workforce planning, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation.
Coordinates workers’ compensation, injury follow-up, and return-to-work matters.
Ensures strict compliance with all local, Minnesota, Iowa, and federal employment regulations.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional Human Resources management experience is required.
Strong working knowledge of employee relations, payroll coordination, benefits administration, wage and hours practices, leave administration, and HR recordkeeping.
Industry Background: Previous experience managing HR in agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, or multi-site corporate environments is highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Language Skills (Preferred): Professional proficiency in Spanish is helpful to effectively support our diverse workforce.
Core Competencies: Proven experience administering payroll systems, managing complex employee relations investigations, and implementing state-specific compliance.
Travel: Ability to work regular business hours at our primary Owatonna, MN facility, with occasional regional travel required to support our Mason City, IA location.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 annually
Paid Time Off: 2 weeks of annual paid vacation.
Sick Leave: Earned Employee Sick and Safe Time (ESST) hour tracking fully compliant with Minnesota law.
Health Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
