This advertisement is for a Water and Sewage Plant Supervisor position located at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, CA. Located in Kern County. Please indicate the position number on your application: 054-216-6724-XXX.

Under the general supervision of the Chief Engineer I, CF, or in their absence, Correctional Plant Supervisor, DOC, the Water and Sewage Plant Supervisor, CF, is responsible for the operation of a water treatment and sewage treatment plant; to maintain and repair facility treatment equipment. Responsible for the operation of a water treatment and sewage treatment plant; to maintain and repair facility treatment equipment. This position requires a Grade I or higher Water Treatment Operator’s certificate issued by the Department of Health Services. This position requires a Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or higher certificate issued by the State of California Quality Resources Control Board Office of Certification. The Water and Sewage Plant Supervisor shall assure that each treatment process meets or exceeds the Department of Health Services and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board requirements. This position is responsible for performing the work with or without incarcerated persons. Personnel may be required to work overtime in emergency situations, are subject to callbacks, work holidays and weekends as the needs of California Correctional Institution dictates.

Working Conditions

CCI is a Multi-level, Sensitive Needs Yard, facility consisting of three (3) facilities, encompassed within a campus style layout with varied terrain. Work in this location may require exposure to varied temperatures dependent upon the season.

California Correctional Institution is in the Tehachapi Mountains approximately 325 miles south of Sacramento and approximately 120 miles north of Los Angeles.

15 minute commute from Tehachapi City, 1 hour 15 minute commute from Lancaster/Palmdale and 1 hour commute from Bakersfield.

Median home purchase price in Tehachapi is $442,250.

Centrally located for destination/vacation spots: 4 hours to Las Vegas, 2 hours to Los Angeles, 5 to San Diego, 3 hours to the Central Coast and 2.25 hours to Wine Country in Paso Robles.

Food Trucks Vary Daily.

Van/Car Pools may be available.
