Full Job Description

Bieser, Greer & Landis, a mid-sized downtown Dayton law firm which dates back to its founding in 1854, is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Paralegal to support our partners and associate attorneys across multiple practice areas. This role is ideal for a paralegal who is self-motivated and proactive, a quick learner with strong problem-solving skills, adapts quickly, and thrives in a high-demand law firm environment.

Practice Areas Include:

Medical Malpractice Defense
Criminal Defense
Business / Commercial Litigation
Family Law
Construction Litigation
General firm overflow support

Primary Focus:

Medical Malpractice Defense will be the primary area of responsibility
The paralegal will also provide overflow and cross-practice support to attorneys in other practice areas as needed

Responsibilities:

Draft and manage pleadings, discovery, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence
Review, analyze, and organize high-volume documents for research and discovery
Assist with case preparation for trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations
Conduct legal and factual research
Manage electronic and physical case files
Track deadlines, court dates, and statutes of limitation
Coordinate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and experts
Support multiple attorneys across practice areas as needed

Qualifications:

2+ years of paralegal experience preferred
Experience in one or more listed practice areas
Strong knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
Tech-savvy and comfortable with legal software, e-filing, Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
Ability to maintain accurate digital records and manage high volumes of documents

A quick learner who can manage competing priorities
Professional, dependable, and client-focused
Comfortable supporting multiple attorneys in a dynamic firm environment
Experience in Medical Malpractice litigation strongly preferred
